Prof. dr Refik Šećibović

Prof. Dr Refik Šećibović is the founder of the College of Tourism and Management Konjic and a professor at the International University of Novi Pazar. He earned his master and PhD degree at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Belgrade. From 1986 to 2006 he worked at the Faculty of Economics and Business in Belgrade where he earned the scientific titles of assistant professor and associate professor. He was a Deputy Minister of Education in the Government of Serbia in period of 2001-2004.

Believing the importance of alternative education with a group of associates, he opened the Belgrade Open School (BOŠ) in 1993 and today it is one of the largest alternative schools in the Balkans. As the first director of the BOS he set the foundations that are still the basis for the development of this school.

He has published many scientific works (books, articles and presentations) in the field of education, geography, tourism. His most famous books are: The Fortress of Hunters in the Unclear (2009), and The Fortress of Boredom – the disappearance of the University (2016).
