Prof. dr Vesna Đukić

Vesna Djukic, Ph.D. is a Professor at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, University of Arts in Belgrade (Serbia). The interdisciplinary areas of investigative, scientific, educational and professional work of Professor Djukic include: science of dramatic arts, cultural heritage management, cultural policy and cultural tourism.

Prof. Djukic teaches courses: Cultural Policy (Bachelor and Master Studies), Management in Culture and Cultural Policy (Master Studies), Financial Operations in Culture and Art (Master Studies), Communication Theory (Master Studies), Theory of Management in Culture and Cultural Policies (Doctoral Studies), Cultural Policy and Sustainable Development (Doctoral Studies), Methodology of Scientific Research (Doctoral Studies). 

From 2010 to 2018 she was the mentor of 10 doctoral dissertations and more than 20 master and master theses defended at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts and the University of Art in Belgrade. 

She graduated in 1981. at the University of Arts in Belgrade, Faculty of Dramatic Arts, Department of Cultural management and policy where she also took MA thesis Culturological Factors of Development of Rural Tourism in Yugoslavia (1989). and Ph.D. thesis Organization of Cultural Activities and Its Effects on Shaping of Rural Cultural Identity (1995).

She published six books: How we are, who we are – a study of memory and identity policy in Serbia (Faculty of Dramatic Arts, 2017), State and culture – studies of contemporary cultural policies (Faculty of Dramatic Arts, first edition 2010, second edition 2012), Cultural Tourism – Management and Development Strategies (Clio, Beograd, 2005), Transitional Cultural Policies – Confusions and Dillemas (Zadužbina Andrejević, Beograd, 2003), Right to a Difference – Rural and Urban Environment (Zadužbina Andrejević, Beograd, 1997), Rural Tourism in Serbia (Turistička štampa, Beograd, 1992), along with 120 scientific and expert papers in domestic and international print and electronic journals and publications.

From 2005. until 2011. she has been a member of the National Education Council, whereby between 2001 and 2003, she was a Managing Director of the Institute for Study in Cultural Development of Serbia.

The experience in the processes of accreditation and quality assurance was acquired by participating in the preparation of documentation for the accreditation of scientific and research activities and study programs of bachelor, master and doctoral studies at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts (2010-2016) and as an independent reviewer of the Commission for Accreditation of Higher Education Institutions in Serbia (2013-2016) and ENIC NARIC Center in recognition of foreign higher education diplomas (2016-2018).
