Prof. dr Jovan Stepanović

Jovan Stepanovic was born on January 7, 1964. in Svrljig. He is married and has two children. He finished elementary school in Svrljig and high school in Niš. He graduated at the Faculty of Technology in Leskovac in 1989. He defended the master thesis in 1993, and the doctoral dissertation in 1997 at the Faculty of Technology in Leskovac, University of Nis.

After completing his studies at the Faculty of Technology, in 1989, he started working in the Niteks factory in Nis, and since 1990, at the Faculty of Technology, University of Niš.

Since 1997, until 2009, he was engaged as visiting professor at the Faculty of Technology, University of Banja Luka, and from 2017 at the Faculty of Technical Studies, University of Travnik. Since 2009 until 2015. He was engaged at the Technical Faculty in Zrenjanin, University of Novi Sad.

In several mandates, he was the head of the Department of Textile Science and was a member of the Council of the Faculty of Technology. He was a member of the Commission for the documentation preparation for the accreditation of study programs at the Faculty of Technology. From 2010 to 2015 he was the Dean of the Faculty of Technology in Leskovac, University of Nis.

He was a member of the Council, Senate, Scientific Council for Technical and Technological Sciences and Chairman of the Committee of Statutory issues on the University of Nis.

Since 2015, until 2018 he was a member of the National Council for Higher Education.

During his previous scientific and professional work, as an author or co-author, he published over ninety papers in international and national journals, more than one hundred fifty papers at international and national conferences, three university textbooks, two monographs. He participated in the realization of nineteen international and national projects within which several technical solutions were developed. He was mentor of five doctoral dissertations. He was the president of the Scientific Committee of the International Scientific Committee, a member of the editorial board of the magazine, as well as a reviewer of papers in international and national journals.

He has won several awards, including the Golden Sign of the University of Nis, for his exceptional contribution of the development of the University of Nis.
